1. Paint your space

Repainting the interior of your home is a quick and easy way to freshen things up. Start by cleaning the surface of your walls and filling any holes or imperfections with spackle. Apply a drop cloth to cover the ground and painters tape for clean edges. The first coat of paint should be a primer, which helps seal the walls and prevents mold. After you apply your primer, go to town with your favorite color combinations. The average cost of one gallon of paint is $30 and should cover around 400 square feet. Be sure to use colors that work well with your existing furniture. You can also install baseboards, a chair rail, and crown molding for a truly luxurious look.

2. Install closet organizers

Whether you rent or own your home, adding extra storage and minimizing clutter is always a plus. Adding closet organizers is a fairly simple project you can do to revamp your closets for less than you may think. You should start by evaluating what you currently have in each of your closets and decluttering your stuff. This will give you an idea of the type of storage you need to incorporate in each room. Once you’re done, you can add the appropriate amount of shelves, coat racks, and hanger rods. The cost of an entire closet organizer can be as low as $150 depending on the size and needs of your space. A custom closet system can improve the resale value of your home too!

3. Spruce up your bathroom

Want something to think about while sitting on the porcelain throne? 🚽 How about taking a look around at the many simple and budget-friendly ways you can spruce up your bathroom. Start by adding a fresh coat of paint, redoing caulk and grout, and updating fixtures like faucets and lighting. The average cost of a new toilet is only $348, so you may choose to start by purchasing a brand new loo!

4. Add some curb appeal

You can add some low-cost pizzazz to your home’s front entrance by simply painting your door a pretty hue that coordinates with your home’s color, replacing your address numbers, and planting some greenery. Be sure to keep your lawn manicured, light fixtures updated, and exterior clean throughout the year. A gallon of paint will cost you around $30, metal address numbers are as low as $4 each, and greenery can cost between $20-$50 per plant.

5. Replace curtains and rugs

One of the simplest ways to change the entire vibe of a room without spending megabucks is by replacing the curtains. A decent curtain panel can cost as little as $20 each. However, if you’re handy with a sewing machine, you may try purchasing the fabric and making your own. You can also find many unique and affordable rugs online at wayfair.com for as little as $50. You can easily place rugs over existing carpets or hardwood floors, giving your room an instant facelift.
